Art Deco Macassar Nightstands. France, 1930.
These elegant Art Deco nightstandstables were made in France in the 1930s. The simple geometric silhouette contrasts with the rich grain of the macassar wood veneer, captivating the eye. Although it is luxurious quality workmanship, these nightstands exude understatement, conveying serenity and warmth to a bedroom. At the top, a drawer is used to store small items such as watches and jewelry before bedtime. Further down, a larger compartment can accommodate the selection of books that will be read in the months to come. The base that supports these two range elements is in solid wood.
