Desk in Elm Wood by Ebénisterie SELTZ
This cohesive piece is made of elm with a relaxing toasted tone. The material, added to the silhouette of the construction, gives a serious but welcoming aura to a space made for the comfort and freedom of the mind. Its functional character is complemented by great attention to detail, revealed in the angular endings on the edges of its volumes. Its general shape is determined by a top that combines straight and curved forms, all with bevels that move in and out, causing a sensation of quiet movement on the surface. On the left, the desk floats on a chest of drawers made up of a large drawer at the bottom, a medium one at the top and, above it, a compact but useful compartment for handy storage of utensils. It is supported, on the other side, by a curved structure made of sinuous slats that follow the curved contour of the upper right corner of the desk. As in all the pieces in the Seltz catalogue, great respect for the material and its use based on elegant, simple and functional shapes can be seen in this model.
