Dining Set by Georges Robert
Rusticity and simplicity were undoubtedly the ideas that George Robert sought to embody when he created this set, back in the 50s. Although it is designed for country houses, the decoration so typical of country furniture is absent: the aesthetic side is only worked on by the lines and angles of the structural elements that make up the table and chairs. Thus, the feet of the latter form true elongated cones, being wider below than at waist height. The feet of the table are thick, reflecting the perennial nature of life in the countryside. The table top is in pine wood, while the feet of the table and chairs are made of oak. The set is in very good condition.
