Charlotte Perriand armchair: Armchair seen from the front, we can appreciate the structure of vertical and horizontal bars that give it shape

Armchair Nº 21 by Charlotte Perriand. Ed. Steph Simon

Of all the works by Charlotte Perriand, this armchair known as « Chamrousse » is our favourite. The first models of this masterpiece were conceived during the 30s. The inspiration for this piece came to Perriand from her experiences in the French countryside and her contact with peasant furniture. After the 30s, different publishers took care of producing and selling it, including Steph Simon Gallery (where our chair was bought by its former owners in the 50s). Our chair is in very good condition, only the straw on the back has seen the claws of a slightly playful cat. We can, of course, take care of changing it, but we wanted to expose it in its original condition.
